Michelangelo: B-Sides

Michelangelo, red chalk study sheet with a nude torso, arms raised, and a profile head study

A set of lesser-seen Michelangelo sheets — pages that mix figure study with poetry, architecture, and private notation rather than presenting a single finished drawing. Several combine media (red chalk, pen, black chalk) on the same page, and more than one carries his handwriting alongside the image. Together they give a fuller picture of how he actually used paper: not just for finished studies, but as a working surface for thinking.
