Ryan Bock — who works under the name Bockhaus — paints and draws almost exclusively in black, white, and gray, using value alone to build his often unsettling, narrative-driven scenes. Working this way strips color out of the equation entirely: every sense of depth, weight, and mood has to come from how light and dark are distributed across the composition.
